Founder & Managing Director The Pharmacist In The House
With over 25 years experience as a pharmacist in clinical, ambulatory and academic practice settings, Efua Joe is no stranger to the potential strengths and pitfalls of conventional U.S. healthcare and pharmacy practice.
After earning her B.S. in Pharmacy degree, she held various positions, from retail pharmacist manager to neonatal & pediatric clinical pharmacist. Later she would go on to design and instruct one of the 1st pharmacy technician certification prep courses in the nation. Despite being the recipient of several awards including Pharmacist of The Year Paragon Award in both 1992 and 1993, Efua credits her role as the health caucus convener to The Earth Charter Summit-reporting to The Netherlands from Philadelphia in 2004, as the role that would define her purpose and passion as a pharmacist and healer.
As a result of working with with many leaders in social, financial, emotional, cultural, environmental and spiritual wellness, it became evident that without the interplay of all of the dimensions of wellness, simply and only taking medications could never produce health nor cure chronic illnesses.
Efua established There's A Pharmacist In The House on the premise that often individuals can facilitate their own health by optimizing wellness, and in many cases, there is no need for medication, nor its costs and toxicities.
In addition to her practice at There's A Pharmacist In The House, Efua develops content, innovative programs, and marketing strategies for organizations and businesses. She is also a photojournalist, graphic artist, and professional voice actor fascinated with nature, and the night.
Her vision is that someday, with wellness optimized, we'll all be free.
