We celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of John Birks "Dizzy" Gillespie today, October 21, 2017. Considered fearless in his honesty (U.S. Selective Service interview response got him classified as 4-F), authentic (not afraid to be quick-witted, laugh and capricious earning him his lifelong nickname "Dizzy") and musically radical (be-bop was considered outlandish in the 1940s when Gillespie and Charlie Parker co-created it, yet years later, Gillespie was accepted as a jazz elder statesman for his very discovery and contribution to developing be-bop.) We say that "Dizzy's" in the house because the same virtues of honesty, authenticity, and quality that Dizzy had define There's A Pharmacist In The House, as well: honesty in our approach to forward wellness as the definer of health, authentic because of our transparency, and quality because we will only accept the best for our clients-which is the entire world that desires optimal health.
